Hello! My name is Kate, just a regular person from Europe in her twenties. This is my private blog, containing things I find interesting - in format which suits tumblr, but wouldn't be particularly fitting for facebook,twitter,linkedin etc.
Could say I used to be an avid gamer and this passion is still somewhere inside me, getting loose whenever irl allows it. This blog reflects this a bit, even though much has changed, truly spare time is almost non-existant, therefore my choice of titles and level of patience is different.

GW2 – Fit for the jaded MMO player.
A while back, after I had just quit playing my previous MMO which I had invested my effort and time into I was having a chat with a guild mate by the name of Kate about my MMO plans for the future.
At this point other guild mates too along with me had come to the point that we were through with the Everquest formula (popularized by WoW) and at this point I was left fairly jaded in my attitude towards MMO’s with seemingly no options left for me in the genre.(…)
We were tired of the grind. We were tired of the unnecessary time sink spent gambling your time on the gear roulette. we were tired of the lack of consequence from your choices. (…)
There was still Guild Wars 2 however, even though it didn’t have a launch or beta dates announced at this point.
Quitting that mmorpg ~13 months ago was a good choice - thank You for helping me with that and for introducing to GW2.

In this GW2 stress test, for 4hours I was occupied with PVP. Was even more fun when server allowed to be in same team with guildie Edriel . (Edris on ss) I really hope they will end this lottery, it was never certain on which side we will end up.

Personally I am grateful for even 1 hour. It’s not enough time to accomplish much though - I think will spend this time in character creation to get that perfect look for release :)
